Kris Prather from rider to writer

Kris grew up in a small and sleepy town in Montana where her two passions were easily discovered and nurtured: riding horses and reading books.  Kris spent countless hours losing herself in Walter Farley's Black Stallion series of books and then, after receiving her first horse at age ten, devoted equal time to pretending to be a world famous jockey.

Kris's dream was nearly realized when, in 2002, she led the entire nation in wins by a jockey for six months before suffering the first of many injuries, the last of which eliminated professional riding as a career option.

Fortunately for Kris, it turns out that she is equally adept in writing as she was in riding and she has now funneled all of her boundless creative energy into writing entertaining and insightful literature while drawing from her career as a jockey and her own joy of reading.

Author's history:

Prather's The Horse Tamer's Niece is currently being reviewed and edited.  The sequel entitled Second Chance is nearly completed and she has written two other books which are currently ready for editorial reveiw: Sacrifice and Greed.

Helen Brann--Literary Agent for Robert Parker and Maya Angelou:

"I think she has a very bright future as a writer," Brann said.  "...I would never encourage someone if I didn't think they had a realistic potential to be published, because it's too cruel."
